The role

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Process Operator / Senior Process Operator to help run our Pilot Plant that is scaling up our new technology to make plastics more sustainable. Working on operating and maintaining our Pilot Plant, you will be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing processes. The role will be heavily hands-on and those who succeed will be excellent at working as part of a team to find solutions to the technical and operational challenges arising.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out routine plant operations including calibrations, start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Working with manual and automatic systems
  • Loading/ unloading materials and chemicals, including some manual handling
  • Working in hazardous controlled zones, adhering to ReVentas’s strict Safety, Health and Environment procedures
  • Participating in risk assessments and procedure development
  • Issuing Permits to Work and other work control systems
  • Participating in technical problem-solving as part of the wider team

Experience/Skills

  • Experience of working as a process operator for industrial chemical processes and/or pilot plants
  • Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and safety checks
  • Experience in developing and maintaining Health and Safety/ operating procedures
  • Maintenance of process plants and calibrating equipment
  • Providing technical support
  • Experience of working with flammable solvents and petrochemical industry preferable, including management of solvent storage and chemical deliveries
  • Experience in developing new processes or implementing improvements to existing ones is advantageous
  • Experience leading a team is advantageous

Qualifications

  • Chemical or relevant scientific qualifications required, either through industrial training, vocational or formal education (minimum Standard Grades/ Nat 5s/ O levels/ GSCEs). Being educated to a degree level or equivalent in a relevant scientific field is advantageous but not essential.
  • Minimum 3-5 year experience of working as a process operator in a chemical sector
  • Involvement in H&S for a chemical process, preferably involving organic solvents is advantageous.
