We’re pleased to share that Ruth Fleming, Project Lead at ReVentas, will be presenting at the Polymer Science and Technology Seminar, hosted by the Manchester Polymer Group on 20 November 2025.

Ruth will deliver a talk titled “Novel Dissolution Recycling of Polyethylene and Polypropylene through the ReVentas Process.”

Her presentation will explore how dissolution recycling can return polyolefins — specifically PE and PP — to a virgin-like purity, enabling their reuse in high-performance packaging applications that conventional mechanical recycling cannot currently serve. She’ll also discuss how dissolution technology decentralises recycling infrastructure, making it possible to deploy systems at national and regional scales without the need for large petrochemical facilities.

This is an important opportunity to share ReVentas’ progress with the polymer science community — and to demonstrate how physical recycling can meet the technical demands of modern packaging while drastically reducing environmental impact.

Ruth’s background reflects the interdisciplinary innovation that drives ReVentas. After earning her Chemistry degree from the University of Strathclyde, she built a career spanning polymer research, materials science, and recycling. Today, she leads ReVentas’ projects focused on applying dissolution recycling to complex plastic waste streams, with a particular emphasis on film and packaging materials.

Ruth is looking forward to connecting with attendees, sharing insights from ReVentas’ ongoing development, and discussing how collaboration across science and industry can help deliver truly circular plastic systems.

If you’re attending the seminar, we’d be delighted to meet you.
